Review : Jersey Shore
Jersey Shore is FINALLY back on our screens with yet another fun filled beginning to the new series, and it’s just bursting with drama! And might I say, those guitos have definitely been missed. Jersey Shore is everything you want in a somewhat ‘reality’ TV drama – fighting, arguing, drama, bitching and a whole load of partying. It’s great in every aspect! Easy to watch, like Big Brother but instead they are not confined into a small house with strict rules. In fact, there are no rules, which makes it all a whole lot better.
The series sees old housemate Angelina trying to wriggle herself back into the ‘family’ that the housemates have become. No suprises there when she’s rejected by the girl clique and the brutal bitching starts between Snookie, J-Woww and Sammi. Instead, Angelina moves her interests to the boys and it all seems to be going swimmingly. That is until Angelina tries to get in between Pauly D having fun, slaps him around the face three times, denies it all five minutes later and then wakes up the next morning with the mother of all hangovers. As the ‘Situation’ would say; ‘not cool’. With the constant on and off relationship between Ronnie and Sammi driving us to a manic state of confusement, it’s pretty hard to keep up with those two!
Jersey Shore has already become one of those programmes that I never want to miss an episode of, always wondering what will happen next due to always being left with frustrating cliff-hangers. Although you learn to love all of the characters, there is a part of me that thinks the boys; Mike ‘The Situation’, Vinnie, Ronnie and Pauly D do portray a negative image of the 21st Century guy. Image obsessed, girl obsessed and self -obsessed – is this all there really is to them? It does slightly concern me that much younger girls and boys may believe everything they see on the show; thinking fighting is cool, partying is the most important thing in life and being image obsessed – is a must. Nevertheless, the show is entertaining, addictive and above all – fun to watch! So catch the Jersey Shore gang on MTV, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
