If you haven’t heard of the new Sci-Fi heist show Slingers yet, that’s
because there is very little to actually hear right now. Despite being still in the
pre-production stages, the producers have put together and released their
second sizzle reel. (The first is not much different, though creator Mike
Sizemore states this is his preferred version)

Staring  Sean Pertwee, Adrian Bower, Tom Mison, Margo Stilley, Haruka
Abe, and directed by Steve Barron Slingers is set in the 60′s of the
future, 2263, and is perhaps what you might dream up if you fell asleep
watching Firefly and Oceans Eleven at the same time.

The production of the pilot is slated to start some time early in 2010.
Slingers is already picking up a buzz around it, partly due to a twitter storm whipped up by graphic novel writer Warren Ellis. One comment one his blog reads “Say the word and I will hunt down and kill anyone who needs to be dead to make this show happen’.
