great review though I wish we had seen some more of Kirk at the Academy and I don’t think much of Ulhura stripping off like that – even though she didn’t know Kirk was there is was still a bit weird!

loved Mr Nimoy though, wow!

[...] EndofShow: Following Cadet Kirk to Starfleet Academy and onwards to the Captaincy of the Enterprise, the film shows the formation of what we now know as the classic crew of Spock, Uhura, Chekov, Sulu, Bones and Scotty. A rogue Romulan called Nero (Eric Bana) is trying to get his revenge on Future Spock, who he blames for the destruction of his home planet Romulus. He manages to destroy Spock’s home Vulcan and then set his sights on Earth, kidnapping the Enterprise’s Captain Pike to torture him for information. Spock takes over as Captain but his future self convinces Kirk that this isn’t a good idea and that he should lead the crew against Nero whilst Spock is still mourning the loss of Vulcan. [...]

I thought Chkov was 19 in the film?

Totally agree about Spock and I do wish Uhura got a ‘hero’ moment, hopefully if they do a sequel she will get more story. And maybe more for Scotty, Bones, Chekov and Sulu. Though I do still want focus on Spock and Kirk’s relationship, but maybe sommore Bones interwined with that.

‘Gojiro’ I think anyone who doesn’t like to be spoiled will stay out of a topic if it say’s there are ‘mild’ spoilers or ‘major’ spoilers anyway.
