Terminator gets two more episodes
FOX have ordered two more scripts of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. These will form episodes 2×14 and 2×15 of the season — although it is unclear if these scripts will be filmed.
Normally a network would order “the back nine episodes”, which they haven’t done in this case. The last case we can recall of two extra scripts being ordered in this situation was during 2002 with FOX’s “Firefly” (which starred T:SCC’s Summer Glau). In November 2002, FOX ordered two extra scripts. The show was then axed one month later.
Firefly averaged an 8% share of the 18-49 market, which is slightly ahead of T:SCC now – however the situation with ratings since 2002 is much complex, with the onslaught of DVR technology and internet streaming.

can you translate the 8% share in the 18-49 segment into actual viewers? (i know it’s not a very reliable way to measure these things, but for comparison with today’s standards it would be cool to know Firefly’s average 18-49 viewer count…)
This is ridiculous…. Why ever air a show like this against Heroes AND Monday Night Football? It’s just silly… put it on Wednesday night and it will be fine.
I hope that this show will make it way to season 3 till before Terminator 4: Salvation begin, because it will make more scence why this show is create.
Just tuning into this Blog and other related to the Series. While I am at the very high end of the target demographic, so holding down one end of the bell (curve), I have to say that work travel and the playoffs have forced me to Hulu to catch the episodes, which of course, doesn’t help the ratings. I admit some ignorance to the ratings as I get that what I watch on COMCAST is clearly measurable, but as to WHO I am (read: my demographic profile), the cable box cannot communicate that. SO at best, I presume this is some synthetic composite model that instructs who is watching. Too bad real numbers cannot be better ascertained. I will say this to the Writers and Producers, I am for one (my wife 2nd, and more and more, friends we’re telling about the show) …we would gladly PAY to watch a continuance of this series through an Internet-based streamed solution. SO there is another data point about the changing face of media consumption. I do hope they figure out something to keep this series alive; it has captured my imagination and glued me more than the MATRIX did. Cheers.
[...] Update: Saturday, October 11th. FOX have ordered two more scripts be written for T:SCC – get the scoop here. [...]
I’m 44 and haven’t watched network television in 20 years, don’t even have cable… and I’m watching this series on hulu. Fox should go ahead and order the rest of the season just for the DVD sales, even if they don’t want to do a third season, because people like me will definitely buy them, just as we had to do with Firefly. It’s a great show and so much better than the few episodes of “Heros” we netflixed that it’s not even funny.
